Jogger 2
Well, here I am, start of day 3! And I must start with an apology for not giving a blogging update on day 2 but, frankly, I was pooped!

Had a busyish day at work and came home to accept delivery of our new TV - the previous one having keeled over at the weekend. Then a quick check of email - nothing much doing. Think, how long before Jez home (from Isle of Wight)? Concluded there was no reason, or lack of time, why I couldn't don the gym clothes and haul my ass into the spare room to start the fitness program. After all I had it set out so beautifully on my computer spreadsheet ready to fill in each day!

Day 1 I was actually too busy baking bread for hubby's sandwiches and also preparing a slideshow of Pads and Paws stuff to load up to the site. Tuesday night though no such excuse.

So, starting with the exercise bike (16 mins warm up to Candi Staton "You Got the Love") I then moved along to the cross trainer. I've come up with a good wheeze here (and I blogged about this before I started this challenge)... I am going to take the mileage each session on the cross trainer and plot along a route from Lands End to John O'Groats! Our usher Kevin did the LEJOG a couple of years ago in real life and I could never manage it yet in actuality from a physical or time point of view - so this is my version and at least it gives me a goal!

I completed 32m on the cross-trainer (5.6miles) and then moved on to the rowing machine. I have always detested the rower - despite the fact that it is one of the most efficient ways to exercise and tone up your whole body. 13 mins this time.

Finally a 19 minute session (was meant to be 15) on the I-Joy ride which is a mechanical version of horse riding and good for toning up the lower regions. I'll explain more about this another day.

Food wise - yesterday was good - still within 1400 cals.

Net result of less food and more exercise? Hit the sack at 10pm and slept through to 7am today and forgot to blog last night!!

Feeling positive today - keeping in mind that I want to get back to my slim/trim pre-Jeremy self! The "Before we met, went out to numerous romantic dinners, bottles of wine and less exercise" version of me!

All the best, Denise

JoggerSo here I stand at the start of day one - petrified of the weighing scales, so much so that I've decided to give myself a week's kick start before I jump on them.  However, hubby is going to take my first "before" photo tonight and measurements - which I'll post later (somehow they don't stir the same emotions as the cold hard figures of stones and lbs!)

The Daily Telegraph quiz I took yesterday informed me that I am an "emotional eater" - which I already know, so here's hoping that today is calm and tranquil and I have no urge to reach for the biscuit tin!

I'm all set - diet diary ready, fitness campaign charted and gym ready and waiting for my prescence this evening at the end of the working day...

Now I'm looking around me... do those two cats lounging on the sofa need to be cut down a bit too - ;-)

GDAToday, I am proud to announce that Pads And Paws Designs have officially appointed The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association as our nominated charity for the period May 2009 - 2010.

We will support the charity in a number of ways during the period.

1. We have put in place a monthly direct debit to the "Sponsor a Puppy Appeal" so that each month we will contribute to the funding and training of a guide dog. The charity exists only as a result of volunteers and fundraising operations, so regular contributions are the lifeblood that keeps their great works going.

2. 10% from every sale made online from www.padsandpawsdesigns.com will be donated to the charity - an update on how much this equates to will be updated to this blog every quarter. This is quite a large percentage given I'm in the first year of trading, so I hope plenty of you feel encouraged to buy and "do your bit" too!

3. From May 11th I will be on a sponsored slim. I will be posting daily to my blog here with a link to my Just Giving page. Again - if you feel you'd like to support my efforts to slim and simultaneously contribute to the wonderful Guide Dogs - I'd be very grateful. I will be undertaking this challenge in tandem with Ruth Crone, founder of The People Incubator. Ruth and I "met" via Twitter; although we live at opposite ends of the country we are motivated to join forces and demonstrate the power of social media, community and the willingness of the great British public to work for the greater good even in times of economic difficulty!

Please support us in supporting The Guide Dogs for the Blind, by subscribing to our blog updates and spreading the word!
